Within the scope of the study, focus was placed on key problem areas such as the fundamental nature and importance of teaching practice in education, the contributions of the course to students and professional development, the planning and implementation of the course process, the adequacy of designated participation hours, the challenges encountered during the course, and the future expectations of all stakeholders. The research adopted the case study design, one of the qualitative research approaches. In this design, an in-depth and intensive examination of a specific event or situation is essential. To benefit from rich and diverse information sources during the data collection process, the "maximum variation sampling" technique, one of the purposive sampling methods, was employed. The research group consists of a total of 18 participants, including 11 teacher candidates taking the teaching practice course, 4 faculty members supervising the course, and 3 social studies teachers working in the application schools. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The interviews, which lasted an average of 21.5 minutes per participant, were recorded using a voice recorder and transcribed into written documents. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and content analysis techniques.

Keywords: Teaching practice, social studies, teacher candidates, mentor teachers, university supervisors.
2025-12-31T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Values in Education and Society
